The purpose of this terminal is to enhance the port’s influence in the Magallanes Region by offering a variety of options to provide comprehensive support to the tourism sector, maritime cargo transport, the salmon industry, and other sectors related to the maritime industry. It is strategically located to offer various specialized services, such as:
· Loading, unloading, and transshipment of project cargo.
· Mooring services for tourist, recreational, and scientific vessels.
· Sale of fuel and water.
· Temporary and commercial mooring services for vessels.
· General port operations activities.
The project involves a multipurpose floating dock that incorporates a new reinforced concrete pontoon—the largest ever built in southern Chile—with a structure measuring 50 meters in length, 25 meters in beam, and a freeboard of approximately 1.47 meters.
